Tiverton is located on the eastern shore of Narragansett Bay, across the Sakonnet River from Aquidneck Island. Together with Little Compton, the area is only connected to the rest of Rhode Island via the Sakonnet Bridge. Tiverton borders Fall River on the north side and Westport, MA along its eastern border. The town is unique in that the northern, middle, and southern parts of town are distinctly different from each other. Northern Tiverton is fairly urban due to its proximity to Fall River. The middle portion is a gorgeous waterfront area overlooking the Sakonnet River. Finally, the southern part of town is a quiet, historic district just before crossing over to rural Little Compton. That said, the real estate market here is varied and complex, with options all over the map for waterfront, suburban, and rural housing.
