Cumberland is a suburban community just north of Central Falls and east of North Smithfield. Residents enjoy relatively quiet and country-style living near the northside of town, while Valley Falls to the south is an urban-esque setting. Cumberland is a family-friendly area with good schools, lots for families to do, and good proximity to Boston and highway access in all directions. You can reach Providence in about 15 – 30 minutes from any point in town.

The Rhode Island State Rock (known as Cumberlandite), is a rare, iron-rich mineral unique to this region. The only large deposit of Cumberlandite in the world is found at Diamond Hill Park, which is also a massive local producer of white quartz.
